From birth through sixth grade, we strive to draw on the elements of wonder, discovery and passion in children. Why? To see God for who He is, to help young people see themselves the way God sees them, and so they can love God, love others, and serve the world!
At First Kids Florence FUMC, every child has a P.L.A.C.E.:
Praising God
Learning and applying God's Word
Accepting others with Christ's love
Caring for one another
Encouraged to know Christ
First Kids meet regularly on Sunday mornings and, during the school year, on Wednesday nights. We also participate in year-round activities such as the Fall Festival, Easter Egg Hunt, Vacation Bible School, and more!
PLEASE NOTE: ALL children (members and visitors) who are participating in children's activities must be checked in at the Welcome Desk just inside our North Seminary Street entrance. Parents of nursery-age children must remain on FUMC property while their children are in our care.
WEDNESDAY NIGHTS
Kids meet on a weekly basis during the school year (September through December and January through May) on Wednesday nights for activities in Floor 2R.
SUNDAY MORNINGS
SUNDAY SCHOOL at 9:45 a.m.
Pre-K & Kindergarten
Join us in Room N206 as we gather for fellowship, fun, food, and learning about Jesus. Each week, a Bible story is combined with an activity and personal application for this age level. This weekly curriculum engages kids' hearts and minds with trustworthy truths for their everyday lives.
First through Third Grades and Fourth through Sixth Grades
We gather each week for fellowship, fun, and age-appropriate study of God's word. We believe kids are world-changers and their spiritual foundation is important. By teaching kids to develop a biblical foundation, we impact their everyday choices and actions. First through third graders meet in Room N207, and fourth through sixth graders meet in Room N210.
SUNDAY NURSERY from 8:15 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Newborn to Three Years
The Nursery Department seeks to provide a safe, loving, fun, and comfortable environment for babies and young children. Located in rooms N122 and N123, the nursery is also available during special events and special activities. All FUMC nursery staff are CPR-trained. Parents of nursery-age children must remain on FUMC property while their children are in our care.
SUNDAY CHILDREN'S WORSHIP at 8:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m.
Three Years to Kindergarten
During our 8:30 a.m. and 10:45 a.m. worship services, children ages three to Kindergarten are welcome to check in at the Welcome Desk to participate in supervised childcare and age-appropriate worship.
Florence First United Methodist Church follows the guidelines established by United Methodist's Safe Sanctuaries Program. Safe Sanctuaries is an overt expression in making congregations safe places where children, youth, and elders may experience the abiding love of God and fellowship within the community of faith.
