State of the Church and Connect & Serve

“Like good stewards of the manifold grace of God, serve one another with whatever gift each of you has received.” (1 Peter 4:10, NRSVue)

This Sunday marks an exciting milestone in our church’s journey as we gather to reflect on our past year and look ahead to new opportunities for growth and service. I invite you to join us for two special events that are shaping our congregation’s future.

1)     The State of the Church Address

During the 9:45 am Sunday school hour, I will deliver our annual “State of the Church” address in the sanctuary. This address is a valuable opportunity to celebrate our accomplishments over the past year and discuss the challenges and opportunities ahead. We believe in transparency and open communication, and this address allows us to hear where we are as a church family and where God is leading us. We’ll provide the latest programming, facilities, and financial updates, leaving ample time for questions.

2)    The Launch of “Connect & Serve”

In each worship service (8:15, 9:00, and 11:00 am), we’ll launch our new volunteer accelerator program, “Connect & Serve.” This initiative is designed to help us discover and utilize our God-given gifts to serve our church and community more faithfully.

We’ll ask you to take a quick and easy 5-minute survey during each service. This survey helps identify your unique gifts and interests, matching them with various ministries and volunteer opportunities within our church. By taking this step, you’re not just filling a role—you’re embracing your calling to “steward God’s grace,” as 1 Peter 4:10 (shown above) encourages us to do.

Bring your smartphone or tablet to church, and we’ll have someone available to help you if you have any trouble. We’ll provide a website link or QR code to access the survey for those not in worship this Sunday. Once you complete the survey, we’ll reach out to discuss possibilities for areas of service. You are under no obligation to serve; however, everyone’s involvement is crucial in helping us build a stronger, more vibrant church community where every member contributes meaningfully through their unique gifts and abilities.

I look forward to worshiping with you this Sunday, either in person or online. Let’s gather with open hearts and minds, ready to reflect on our journey and embrace new ways to serve God and our church. Your presence and participation in the State of the Church address and the “Connect & Serve” launch are vital as we seek to fulfill our mission and grow in faith together. This Sunday is a great time to bring your friends to learn more about our church.
