“This is love: that we walk in obedience to God’s commands.
His command is that you walk in love.”
~ II John 6
I had a dog that did not need a leash. She seldom strayed or ran away from me. If she got too far away, I would call her and she would run back, tail wagging and happy to be with me. She obeyed because past experience was that I would not hurt her and would love her.
In our walk with God, our lives will be full and rewarding if we obey God’s teachings and follow the example of the life of Jesus christ. God wants what is best for us, he always loves us and offers safety. Obedience is not always easy. We can learn to be obedient through prayer, scripture, study and quiet times of reflection in the presence of God.
When we fail, when we wander away; God calls, seeks and forgives. God always loves and wants us back!
